This is a film in which Austin presents its most "aristocratic" models, the Mayfair trim on Metro, Mini, Maestro and Montego. As you can see below, the whole thing is narrated by an old Austin (itself a Mayfair?), in animated conversation with "her Ladyship" at the wheel.

I also find this film interesting because they highlight the fact that they were "celebrating 80 years of the Austin name"... which would only last for 2 years more, production of Austin branded-cars being ended in 1987. Rumours have resurfaced lately of a comeback of Austin, to be used by Shanghai Auto (SAIC), as a less premium/sporty companion to their MG cars.

Desde hace un tiempo han vuelto a surgir rumores de que Austin sería devuelta a la vida por Shanghai Auto (SAIC) como una línea menos deportiva o premium que sus actuales MG.
